About
Please allow me to introduce myself: My name is Marla Beyer. I was born and raised in a preacher’s home, allowing me many opportunities to meet and visit with numerous ministers and missionaries while growing up. Being brought up in the ministry and around so many ministers from all over the world had an incredible and profound impact on my life and view of God’s work.
However, the most profound impression was made on my by my grandmother (see dedication page). She lived and breathed children’s ministry for over 50 years. I had the amazing privilege of spending many of my childhood years in her children’s church. That’s where I learned the importance of carrying out the work with excellence (though I often fall short of her incredible example). She continued to mentor me until her death in 2002.
In August of 1996, I accepted the position of Children’s Pastor at Abundant Life Assembly of God, Punta Gorda, Florida. I have remained in that position since then, and I continue to serve there now. It’s amazing to look back over the years at the changes and (prayerfully) the growth that has taken place in the children’s ministries department. Thankfully, I can laugh at my mistakes and continue to learn from them.
I am married to a wonderful man, Eddie (thanks for the great web-site, hon!) and we have a beautiful daughter, Moriah, who has been in children’s church since birth and will Lord-willing become Mommy’s little apprentice.
God has also given me a heart that beats just as strongly for missions as it does for children’s ministries. I have had the opportunity to travel on many missions trips to a variety of countries in Latin America. The greatest desire of my heart is to bless children’s ministries both locally and world-wide. I pray that this web-site is a blessing to you and your ministry. Please let me know if I can help you in any way.
